I am Founding Course Director of the Master of Creative Intelligence and Strategic Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) and a Visiting Research Fellow at Central Saint Martins College (University of the Arts London). I am a leader within a body of work that has bridged the public, private, and community sectors. Having worked as a public servant at the NSW Department of Justice from 2003 in operational and strategic policy roles, I moved to UTS in 2010 to lead the Designing Out Crime Research Centre. This work developed new public sector innovation practices and impactful innovation projects that has led to policy interventions, organisational change, commercial products, systemic changes and the creation of a body of work that is influencing the way organisations take on complex problems. All of my work has been done in partnership with industry and public sector organisations across the contexts of defence, counter terrorism, policing, corrective services, social services, organised crime, domestic and family violence, cybercrime, mental health, clinical innovation, transport innovation, the built environment and more. I'm a published author and have made appearances on radio and television. I am an experienced educator having worked in Universities as Deputy Director of a research centre, Course Director, Subject Coordinator, Lecturer and Tutor over a period of 10 years at graduate and postgraduate levels. While based at the University of Technology Sydney I have worked with a number of other institutions including the Copenhagen Business School, CSM (London), Paris d.School, Korea University (Seoul), Seoul Design Foundation, Sungkyunkwan University (Seoul), Parsons School of Art and Design (New York), Aalto University (Helsinki) and many guest appearances at Australian Universities and educational institutions. As a leader I am highly collaborative and have worked with so many wonderful people at the Designing Out Crime Research Centre and in partner organisations. I am very proud that this body of work was assessed by the Australian Research Council as highly impactful across all measures (impact, engagement and approach). I love to collaborate in many different contexts and I focus my energy on creating space for people to find their ikigai. I believe that we can deliberately shape our future, together. I am now leading the Master of Creative Intelligence and Strategic Innovation at the University of Technology Sydney.
