The Tail Hook Education Foundation (TEF) is a Non-profit/ charitable, tax free 501/C3 Organization whose mission is: "to educate the nation's public with regard to Naval Aviation's past, present & future activities & its importance to our country's national Security." Supervise/ manage/ direct all Boardworks (BW) Surfboard, Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and accessories marketing operations and sales in & around the Hawaiian Islands and the Asia Pacific.

Supervise, manage & direct all marketing operations and sales for Kane Garden (KG) surfboards, KG Stand Up Paddle Boards (SUPs), &, KG accessories in Hawaii as well as in various other places on the mainland.

Directed U.S. Pacific Command Combating Terrorism (CT) planning/ operations/ training. Area covered, but was not limited to Asia & the Pacific Rim (NE Asia & SE Asia), Western Asia (from India east including the Comoros, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh), Oceania/ the South Pacific Island nations, &, Australia & New Zealand. Also responsible for Maritime, Port, Border security planning, interagency cooperation, operations/ training in the same area to include The Straits of Malacca, The Sulu & Celebes Seas, The South China Sea & The Indian Ocean & adjacent waterways. Additionally responsible for Interagency Cooperation with all US Agencies & Host Nation counterparts in the Asia Pacific working the mission sets listed above. This IA cooperation work included, but was not limited to, counter terrorism, countering transnational crime/ criminal organizations (TNCOS), Maritime/ Port/ Border Security, &, Humanitarian Assistance/ Disaster Relief/ Response/ Consequence Management.

Commanded the ~2000 U.S. Navy Officers & Enlisted men & women of CARRIER AIRWING SEVENTEEN. Responsible for 75 aircraft carrier-based combat aircraft (8 squadrons) & the planning, operations, training, budget, &, safety/ well being of those in my command. Conducted two extended combat deployments & the associated training cycles into the Atlantic, Mediterranean, Persian Gulf & the Indian Ocean. ARIWING won the initial RADM Ramage award for best combat Carrier-Airwing team in 2002 with 7 of my 8 squadrons assigned also winning the BATTLE "E" for efficiency in the specific communities.

Responsible for liaison between the OPNAV Staff & the US Navy Fleet Commanders; this included, but was not limited to: communicating proposals, projects, annual/ long term budget & funding options & decisions between the US Navy OPNAV staff & the Commanders of the Pacific & Atlantic Fleets in Pearl Harbor Hawaii & Norfolk Virginia.

Commanded the ~200 men & women of STRIKE FIGHTER SQUADRON TWO FIVE. Responsible for 12 FA-18 aircraft & the associated planning, operations, training, &, safety & well being of those individuals & the equipment assigned to my command. Conducted two combat deployments & associated work-up cycles to the Western Pacific, Indian Ocean & Persian Gulf in support of Combat/ Combat related & training operations there at the time.

Executive Officer (XO) for MARINE FIGHTER ATTACK TRAINING SQUADRON ONE ZERO ONE and, Officer In Charge (OIC) of U.S. Navy Detachment, Marine Corps Air Station El Toro CA. Responsible for the training, operations & safety/ well being of ~2000 U.S. Navy Officers & Sailors as MCAS El Toro OIC & 65 Officers & Sailors as XO VMFAT-101.
