I began my undergraduate research in an inorganic lab, synthesizing metal-organic complexes for the capture and conversion of hydrogen sulfide. In this lab, I developed skills in synthetic chemistry and various characterization techniques, including UV-Vis, NMR, and IR spectroscopy. As I got more invested in research I was itching for more. I began working alongside another group where I learned about the powerful tool that is DFT. Combining experimental and computational approaches has been an incredible experience and I am eager to continue my pursuit of knowledge as I begin my search for graduate schools.Outside of the lab, I love getting experimental in the kitchen. I have worked in a few restaurants, one of them taught me to how to prepare sushi. This has developed cooking as a hobby and a great way to bond with friends and family.

Utilized MATLAB to enhance a two-step kinetic model to model the degradation of wood during a process called torrefaction. Furthermore, worked under a diverse group of graduate students to achieve the goals of the lab, which were to optimize torrefaction conditions. Ultimately, torrefaction is a heat treatment of wood under inert atmospheres. In turn this.
