The Lead Validation Engineering Technician is an role providing support for launching new Eaton network connectivity software and hardware products through evaluation and defect identification.In this function:• Work with engineers to evaluate new software and network products.• Perform manual and automated tests for UIs, network protocols (Modbus, BACnet, SNMP) and associated power systems.• Write test defects and collaborate with Development, Service and Technical Support in defect resolution.• Collaborate and coordinate testing with global teams.• Test lab maintenance and organization.

• I am responsible for performing testing, troubleshooting, and repair on three-phase medium and high voltage UPS and power management systems to ensure products are repaired and tested to defined specifications. The incumbent needs to communicate effectively with cross functional departments to resolve and correct repair issues, including but not limited to engineering, production, quality, operations, contractors.• Read and interpret electronic schematics for UPS Systems• Responsible for reporting any non-conformance items by utilizing our quality management guidelines• Recommend modifications and improvements to enhance the products for quality, reliability, manufacturability, and cost effectiveness• Instruct and communicate with Production Associates, Quality Engineering Technician, Manufacturing Engineers and Test Engineers to resolve daily production and warranty issues• Check and maintain equipment to ensure compliance with ISO 9000:2000 standards• Identify and implement corrective actions for the repair, replacement and calibration of tools and equipment• Adhere to all environmental, health, safety policies and procedures, and work instructions• Use the principles of 5S+ to ensure a clean and organized work area• Promotes goals, philosophies, & encourages continuous improvement• Cross train with peer technicians on products, test equipment, procedures, and formal communication aspects of the job function• Responsible for ensuring functional quality of manufactured products in accordance with established test and assembly procedures, workmanship standards, and ISO 9001:2015 and EQMS. • You will document failures on products returned on RMA and respond to Corrective Action Requests• Train and educate associates in ESD protection and provide leadership-by-example• Maintain test racks, cords, cables, and fixtures in reliable operating condition• Support Eaton’s continuous improvement objectives through active participation and teamwork.

Responsible for performing the installation, modification, testing, and servicing on all internal/in-house data communications network equipment. Tested and Troubleshot Digital Multiplex Systems. Digital Multiplex System (DMS) is the name shared among several different telephony product lines from Nortel Networks for wireline and wireless operators. Among them are the DMS-1, Rural/Urban digital loop carrier, the DMS-10 telephone switch, the DMS SuperNode family of telephone switches (DMS-100, DMS-200, DMS-250, DMS-300, DMS-500, DMS-GSP, DMS-MSC, DMS-MTX), and the S/DMS optical transmission systems.• Consistently reviews quality yields and develops corrective actions to eliminate any yield detractors, further improves the process and product reliability. Works with the Quality Engineer• Assists with the fabrication and development of new equipment, fixtures, and test programs. • Ensures that effective preventive maintenance, calibration, diagnostics, re-qualification, and daily measurement schedules are in place for each test and burn-in process. • Coordinates manufacturing, maintenance, and engineering preventive maintenance activities. • Assists engineering and the development labs with all new product introduction and development - JTAG• Ensures that each test and burn-in process have a training/certification package for both manufacturing and maintenance.
