I am a recent graduate from Western Michigan University with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Integrated Supply Management from the Haworth College of Business. With this major I want to go into the buying or purchasing field and move up to a higher level managerial position from there. I possess a few skills that will help me to excel in this field, organization, and creativity. Organization: While serving as the vice president for two national organizations my organization was always put to the test. I was in charge of coordinating two of the biggest event of the school year with over 800 attendees and $700 in revenue collected. I was also in charge of making sure all programs and events were hosted that were required on a national level. This all took organization everything needed to be organized and laid out for the events to be successful. By guiding the committees and abiding by the timelines made for each event we were able to pull these things off in a timely and efficient manner.Creativity: Whilst this may be an untraditional skill for the field it is a valuable one. While working as a procurement intern at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Michigan my creativity had the opportunity to shine the most. I was tasked with a multiple of projects that weren’t always about what the right answer was but how creative I could get to solve the issue. I was always able to think outside the box and come up with new innovative ideas that would make senior leadership have to think a bit before responding. This method alone allowed me to exceed the set goal on many projects that I participated in.
