Persistence. Resilience. Tenacity. Curiosity. Grit.These are just a few of the attributes that allowed me to launch a successful career in HR operations while putting myself through college and raising a family. Graduate school was a significant challenge as I earned my MBA on a tight two-year timeline while being promoted to my first manager role, ensuring I spent enough quality time with my two small boys. Having spent the last 16 years in a Swiss bank of global and systemic importance, I have had the opportunity to collaborate with colleagues around the world on many initiatives. This has been a great source of learning not only about legislative differences in HR, but cultural differences as well. I was fortunate to join Credit Suisse (CS) during the design phase of the global HR transformation project with a goal of implementing a global HR system of record while simultaneously offshoring many HR processes to India. Being a fresh set of curious eyes at the table with a knack of building efficient and controlled processes, I was able to take the lead on designing global processes to ensure clarity and move the conversation forward, handing the baton back to formal leadership when appropriate. By the end of the session, I had earned a great deal of respect from Senior HR leadership and my new colleagues, where I solidified my standing as a Go To person whose perspective was continuously sought after from that point until the end of my career at CS. Valuing my perspective as a trusted leader and problem solver with an acuity for identifying areas of opportunity for improvement also allowed for the continuous expansion of responsibilities under my ownership, including my promotion from Vice President to Director. While it took me almost eight years to obtain my bachelor’s in finance and an additional two years for my MBA, I’ve never lost focus on the value of being curious and always learning. I continuously consume leadership and influence education through books and seminars. More recently, developments in AI has piqued my curiosity to read and attend online trainings to understand the underlying mechanics and different options that can be applied to HR Operational processes.I look forward to continuing my learning and leadership journey with a new set of colleagues to engage with to establish efficient, effective, and controlled HR processes, ensuring a positive employee experience.
