Instruct & train students interested in entering or advancing in the IT field. My students focus on industry recognized IT certifications such as TestOut’s PC Pro, Network Pro, Security Pro, CompTIA’s A+, Network+, Security+, and Microsoft’s MCSA or Cisco’s CCNA. By successfully training at an official Cisco Networking Academy instructor’s training facility, my students can enjoy the conveniences of enrolling in my CIT curriculum and experiencing the Cisco Networking Academy training themselves. Establishing a Pearson VUE certification testing center was an accomplished goal I also value. Enrolled CIT students are able to test onsite at our Huntsville campus avoiding extensive travel to other testing facilities. I hold several certifications or have trained to be a certified instructor in many IT areas. Experience is my strong hold. My duties not only are those required as an instructor but also include maintaining two campus facilities IT needs. I maintain over 200 workstations, manage servers in both a physical and virtual environment. Troubleshooting and solving everyday IT needs is a daily duty I continuously preform. Securing the campuses networks with the latest firewall and antivirus technology is a task I maintain often. Staying current is a priority. I often work with local companies both advising and supplying their IT needs. I am continuously training in the latest technology through educational courses, hands on and internet research.

The main reason I continue to stay active in this part time endeavor is to further stay current in the IT field and bring the knowledge to my classroom and train my students. My strong hold is maintaining medial databases and keeping them secure. I have seen this industry evolve and have been part not only maintaining these facilities but helping make IT decisions. Being involved in networking, network security, virtual and cloud infrastructure has been a must for these businesses. Developing strategies that enables these companies save money has been a huge part of my focus in the past couple years. The further development of “cloud” resources has been a major role player involved in this process.

Technical Network Specialist (November, 1998 – June, 2000) Duties included design verification of industrial network communication hardware and software. PC hardware/software maintenance and repair, testing and troubleshooting industrial network hardware and verifying imbedded and application software, as well as developing and implementing lab test and manuals. Traveling to industries and troubleshooting industrial networking controllers. Senior Test Technician (January, 1995 to November, 1998) Duties included those of test technician as well as interviewing, training, and assisting junior level test technicians. Responsible department workstations, network, software upgrades and maintenance. Oversaw RMA department. Test Technician (November, 1992 to January, 1995)Duties included working with Allen-Bradley and Siemen PLCs, calibrating Allen-Bradley and CTI PLC modules, component level troubleshooting, and repairing all completed and returned units. Responsible for writing test procedures, designing and repairing test fixtures, and working with the Engineering department

Cell Leader/Test Technician Duties included those of test technician as well as being leader of my cell, consisting of 5 other employees. This included answering questions, training new employees, and being responsible of all operations of our cell unit.Electronic Test TechnicianDuties included troubleshooting, repair, and calibrating manufactured equipment. Responsible for quality control and proper operation of all completed units.
