Offer community education through farm tours, courses and school excursions. Focused on Food Security, Sustainable Living and developing livelihoods for indigenous. We also provide environmental and community development research & development support to local government, business, consultants, mines, schools, community groups, farmers, churches etc.

Managing Provincial wide community development projects throughout Hela Province, PNG. Developing effective partnerships with the Hela Provincial Health Authority, National, Provincial & District Governments and donor agencies to enable implementation of PNG's development priorities and long term sustainable benefits. Managing Incentive Fund grants, working with PNG disaster controllers office, consultants and multiple partners (UNICEF, Red Cross, WHO, NDOH, PNGDF, DFAT etc) on Disaster relief (Earthquake & Polio outbreaks), water, hygiene & sanitation (WASH), Literacy programs, repairs to Rural Health facilities, building Accident & Emergency facilities, managing NGO, church & government partnerships, Monitoring & Evaluation of projects, staff and contractors.

Development and implementation of community development & environmental sustainable programs within Porgera & Hela local communities. Objective of ensuring sustainability beyond mine life. Translate sustainable development goals into viable grassroots capacity building programs. Formed partnerships with Red Cross, Rotary, local sporting associations, Porgera Women's Association, Porgera disabled groups, Tertiary institutions, National Agricultural Research Institute and government.

Effectively engaged with HTL village communities and gained cooperation, respect, participation and support to implement sustainable, socially responsible and economically beneficial community development and environmental programs. Solved long term legacy grievances within the community, met Social and Environmental mining license objectives to operate, made royalty payments worked with NGOS, government, business to broker community peace. Living off mine site in the remote Hela Provence community (Jack of all trades). Assist Anthropologist Dr Bill Thomas (Montclair State University USA), PJV environmental Manager and Hela Provincial and local Government to conserve global and culturally important 120,000ha of remote wilderness in the Strickland River/ Hewa region, to establish a globally important conservation reserve (in the PNG National Park system) through a Conservation International forest stewards program.

Teach practical hands on grass roots Food Security & Living sustainably. Utilise recycled materials & low economic outlay to produce an ‘all you can eat food production system’ that raises fish and converts the waste into vegetable nutrients. The vegetables become the filter for the fish and two crops are produced to feed households. Designed training packages to suit varying audiences, taught lectures at University, run practical hands on training courses for non-profit groups, business & the general public. Currently grow over 60 varieties of herbs, fruit trees & vegetables in a backyard trial location to showcase what can be achieved using recycled waste materials and out of the box thinking.

Volunteer governance roles (representing Barrick Gold/PJV & people of Hela) as a business community representative in the newly formed Hela Provincial Health Authority. Roles included:1. Finance Committee (Chairman) and 2. Business representative on Hela Provincial Health Authority. Together with Oil Search, Oil Search Foundation, local Hela community and business representatives we monitor all hospital, rural health decisions on major infrastructure and finance for the betterment of the Hela Provincial health system;

Assisted clients meet Environmental, Social Development & Health & Safety legislative requirements. Major clients included: Gold Ridge Mining Lease (Solomon Islands), Integra Coal- VALE, Harmony Gold (PNG), Lihir Gold (PNG), Apple Computers, Volvo, Electrolux, Lion Nathan Foods, Newcastle University, etc. Tasks included writing management plans, incident reporting, policies and procedures for mines (eg. Biodiversity, Noise & Vibration, Social Resettlement, Erosion & Sediment, Blast management, Cyanide, Neighbour relations etc), EHS compliance auditing and reporting to commonwealth legislative requirements, undertaking environmental, WHS & Social audits (ISO 14001, 4801) gap analyses, audit protocol development, management system development (Environmental; WHS; and Integrated Management Systems) and updating company training packages. Work included writing proposals, tender development, client liaison, capability statements, website development, web marketing, and project management (budgeting, people management, time management, client liaison, report writing etc);

Active member of the Warners Bay Rotary Club yet worked with clubs of Dee-why, Maitland and others on joint projects. I have a local and international PNG focus. I was attracted to Rotary as its a Service based club- putting service to others above Self. Gave my time voluntary to assist RAWCS intentional community development in areas of primary healthcare, water, hygiene, sanitation, Malaria prevention, literacy projects in Jiwaka, Chimbu, Enga and Eastern Highlands provinces. Co-developed & managed a Rotary International development project on behalf of Barrick Gold Mine, Enga Province, PNG. Project aimed to increase community independence away from a local gold mine and focused heavily on education, environmental health and income generation economic development opportunities.

Conservation Volunteers partners with individuals, businesses and governments in the conservation of our unique environment to protect and enhance our environment. CVA Climate change forum brought together local environmental community groups, government, business and Industry to find solutions to combat the effects of Climate Change for the Hunter Valley.

Sustainability education, Energy and Greenhouse audits, Solar programs, City wide energy reduction campaigns, Waste Management, Environmental Education, Bush regeneration programs, Energy Management reduction programs etc. Spearhead many of Council’s environmental operations, sustainability & Climate Change policies and operations in line with leading best practice and community needs, leveraging key risk, reducing Council footprint, environmental economics, to foster protection and improvement of health and environment within local community. Assisted with policy development; and prepared and present detailed reports including measurement of greenhouse gas emissions to the Cities for Climate Protection (CCP) and Council Executive, and emissions savings and initiatives for Councils annual Reports.

Waste Management, Environmental Education, Stormwater Management education, Biodiversity, Energy Management reduction programs etc. (Various positions & roles within Local Government).Key role to manage critical energy efficiency and global warming reduction projects, handling all facets of business development, marketing, program management / delivery, education, event management, software development and presentation design, and budget management. Led stormwater management and environmental education operations for Council, with a major focus on creek riparian zones in Newcastle.

Managed all facets of the Primary Health Care, community development projects in the Highlands of Papua New Guinea (Moreabe, Eastern Highlands, Chimbu, Jiwaka, Western Highlands, Enga provinces). Led team of 28 staff in Social, Agricultural, Environmental Health and Development related community projects with AusAid Incentive grant funds (AU$3.5M). Focused on poverty reduction programs including hygiene and sanitation, economic development, micro-finance, village leadership, water management, carpentry, literacy, coffee, HIV AIDS and environmental awareness skills training. Reported to the Chief Secretary. Liaison with National Agricultural Research Institute (NARI) and South Australian Research Institute to establish scientific village chicken trials to develop new village alternative stock feed. Findings published in scientific journal.

Tasked with rebuilding one on the most famous zoological institutions in the world (formally known as Baiyer River Bird of Paradise Sanctuary) to benefit global conservation, local tourism, economic projects, social development etc. Led team of local staff and volunteers in operational management of the Wildlife Sanctuary, including management and breeding of threatened species including: birds of paradise, harpe eagles, vultureine parrots, tree kangaroos, cassowary, cuscus, striped possums etc. Implementation of key government policies. Set up government advisory board, Sanctuary Board of Management and liaised extensively with Sanctuary management committee, government agencies, global foreign aid donors, global zoological institutions, global environmental organisations and community stakeholders. Conducted scientific research on threatened species, environmental education in surrounding village community and survived many a tribal fight.
