In the position of Government & Media Relations Representative for Farmers Insurance Group, I directed government relations and corporate outreach programs for Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina. Other related duties included Farmers Insurance Group approved liaison to the Virginia State Corporation Commission’s Bureau of Insurance on all matters related to products, agents, compliance, and natural disaster claim responses.Launched and supervised the East Zone Vehicle Theft Unit in Hunt Valley, MD (FCC Z1). Established metrics to improve investigations, claims cycle time, rental expense, salvage processing, SIU investigations, and relationships with law enforcement. The unit would later investigate suspicious claims in the areas of arson, VIN fraud, suspicious uninsured motorist claims, and suspected gang activity. Worked closely with the National Insurance Crime Bureau (NICB) and coordinated additional training for unit employees. Established a new unit to address total loss cycle time and related expenses. Our team was designated the East Zone Auto Total Loss Salvage Department and located in Richmond, VA (FCC AP). Toured our eight field claim offices to explain the zone program and secure support from local management. Our team met or exceeded all annual performance metrics: claim cycle time, rental expenses, salvage return, and customer experience. This centralized concept for total loss processing of titles and customer service was successful and later implemented in our new Claims Help Point.Designated an East Zone Claims Training Super User during the initial rollout of the Customer Restoration Network (CRN). This was a significant change for claims as we moved from paper to digital claims documentation. I toured and presented the new platform to claims personnel in 12 states and 19 field claims offices. I was honored to be highlighted in a documentary, "CRN, A Day in the Life of a Claims Supervisor" presented to all new hires.

Multi-line field adjuster to acting supervisory duties for West Richmond and Farmville, VA. Claims under this platform were assigned by claim number with all exposures to the adjuster to handle to closure: collision, property damage, bodily injury, medical payments, rental, and subrogation. My first claims supervisory experience was in suspicious claims activity and VIN fraud. Extended Catastrophe (CAT) claims activation: Hurricane Fran (1996), Tidewater, VA area tornadoes (1997), and Hurricane Bonnie (1998). CAT related investigations into suspected fraud and examinations under oath (EUO) sparked an interest in investigations, fraud, human behavior, and law enforcement.
