PresidentSandpiper Chemicals Apr 2019 - PresentSandpiper Chemicals, LLC, is a 1.0 MM ton/year blue methanol plant on the Texas Gulf Coast in Texas City, TX. The plant is designed to produce 3,000 metric tons per day with production expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2028. This project will have a first quartile cost of production on the worldwide cost curve, with an option for a second train. Energy Allied International of Houston, Texas, a leading international project development firm with extensive global methanol development experience, is developing the project, and this is their third methanol plant to be developed. • Sandpiper has long-term methanol purchase agreements on a take-or-pay basis, provided by creditworthy offtakers, ensuring cash flow stability with market upside to the project. The project is a state of the art blue methanol technology utilizing Topsoe SynCORTM, results in enhanced production yields and lower emissions with 300,000 tons/year of CO2 to be supplied to a world class sequestration partner• Existing brownfield infrastructure of approximately $300 million further reduces project’s overall capital cost at the INEOS Acetyls site in Texas City.• Goldman Sachs retained as financial advisor to raise the necessary development capital funds, with a target of completion by fourth quarter 2024. Goldman will also be the lead manager of further equity, debt and other hybrid securities. • On-site existing rail, deep-water jetty; barge loading facilities; nearby natural gas and other feedstock pipelines• Direct access to Gulf of Mexico and Intracoastal Waterway through government-maintained waterway accommodating ocean-going vessels with drafts of approximately 40 feet• Air Permit received from the TCEQ for the project on May 3, 2024 -
