When I began my role as an R&D Project Manager at Scientifica, my focus was on improving how we manage product development. Combining teaching with educational neuroscience research.At Barr Beacon School, I taught physics and science while simultaneously continuing my research into how children learn and retain information. My focus was on applying neuroscience techniques to the classroom, helping to refine teaching methods that improve student outcomes.In addition to teaching, I worked on developing new content for Key Stages 3, 4, and 5. This work allowed me to better engage students and improve their understanding of complex scientific concepts. Staying current with neuroscience research also allowed me to keep my teaching methods fresh and evidence-based.

In addition to teaching physics at Dame Elizabeth Cadbury School, I continued to conduct research in neuroscience. One of my teaching aims was to make Neuroscience more accessible to school pupils, as well as increasing their interest in physics. These goals support the Researchers in Schools program to which I belong.

Conducting research into the effects of odours on brain cells and mentoring postgraduate students.As a postdoctoral researcher at Université Laval, my primary challenge was to refine our research methods to improve the efficiency and accuracy of our experiments. I tackled this by introducing complex surgical procedures, electrophysiological experiments, and advanced statistical analysis techniques.These improvements supported the successful publication of two papers in peer-reviewed journals, contributing to a better understanding of how odours affect microglial cell activation in the olfactory bulb. Alongside my research, I mentored undergraduate and postgraduate students, guiding them through experimental methods and data analysis to help them advance in their scientific careers.
