Banco Mercantil is one of the largest banks in Venezuela and for a year I worked developing an expert system to evaluate the health of the credits given to corporate customers. In the evaluation the system created considered the customer's financial statements, its credit history as well as the assets offered to back the credit. By using the system Banco Mercantil was able to reduce the credit portfolio review time from months to days.
