Senior Data Analyst
Current- Leads projects and investigations related to information operations on social media, including COVID-19 health misinformation, election integrity, online harassment, and online extremism.- Collects, treats and analyzes large social media data sets to generate state-of-the-art social media network mapping while providing qualitative political expertise and analysis on online movements, communities, and disinformation narratives.- Identifies, develops, and leverages computational algorithms, models, and tools that facilitate team analysis of social media movements and manipulation, including influencer discovery methodologies, online harassment, and hate speech detection.- Provides regular written reports and datasheets that comply with client information requests to inform investigations into social media manipulation, including identifying suspicious patterns and emerging online propaganda threats.- Supports cross-company teams with insights gained from large-scale analysis of social network data in the form of reports and visualizations generated from the Graphika platform and external sources to assist with investigative efforts.- Researches developing methodology in the field of social media manipulation and propaganda detection and compiles analytical notes for internal and external purposes, including presenting findings at high-level international conferences.- Leverages professional and academic background in policy and political expertise to monitor the intersection of disinformation with geopolitics/international affairs, particularly in Brazil and Latin America.
