Sole Storage Engineer onsite in the Lowe’s San Antonio Data Center. Install, manage, maintain all storage and backup devices for Production, Dev/Test/Qa, and disaster recovery. Install and build SAN fabrics and connectivity for all open systems devices. Configured SRDF replication via Brocade 7840/7850B switches. Work with the mainframe team on FICON connectivity, replication, Teradata and tape extension. Implemented dual pathing as a standard in the Dev/Test/Qa environment immediately after being hired by creating a second fabric and adding new cabling every dual path capable server. Ran the technical refresh from 17 SAN directors to 6 SAN directors with no down time for any multi-pathed server (windows, Linux, AIX). Performed switch firmware upgrades after vetting new firmware. Worked on proof of concepts with multiple vendors; NETAPP, VAST, PURE, Cohesity to determine if products would meet Lowe’s requirements. Manage the life cycle of storage equipment ensuring proper disposal, drive erasure or destruction. Designated encryption key holder for credit card clearing devices. Functioned as Engineering liaison to the facilities team to work with them for project needs such as power and cooling for new or additional equipment. Mentored and provide career guidance to personnel with one able to start a new career as an entry level storage engineer

I am responsible for architecting and providing storage solutions for our business units project needs. I work with the System Engineer and DBA's to determine the appropriate type of storage based on the solution being built.

Started as one of EMC's first Associate Customer Engineer's, promoted; and finally to Account Customer Engineer on 9 September, 2006. I have maintained high profile accounts for EMC to include CheckFree, Hewlett Packard, Travelers Insurance, and The Home Depot. I manage and maintain the equipment at the account to include installation, configuration, troubleshooting, preventative measures via code and firmware controls, escalations, and upgrades. As an Account Customer Engineer I have managed my primary account CheckFree for 11 years this includes the 11 sites that CheckFree has nationwide. I ensured that all technical activities are properly planned and executed; whenever possible I perform the activity unless a physical presence is required at remote sites in which case I engage local customer service resources. I have been used as a resource on implementation/migration projects with ADP, UPS, GE Consumer Finance, E*Trade, Travelers Insurance and many others. I mentored/trained new customer engineers and frequently covered for both my district manager and Service Account Managers when they are unavailable.

Functioned as a Trip Leader for Marine Helicopter Squadron One in support of the President of the United States; managed personnel, logistics, and helicopter assets in the United States and overseas. Built computerized load plans for support aircraft to include the C-5 Galaxy, C-141 Starlifter and the C-130 Hercules. Supervised the loading of the VH-60N and VH-3D aircraft and related support equipment. Worked as a Quality Assurance Representative certified to inspect all maintenance performed on the VH-60N and VH-3D. Researched the applicability of technical directives from the H-60 and H-3 aircraft community in relation to the Executive Flight Detachment. Assigned as the Maintenance Training program manager for the Executive Flight Detachment.
