I am passionate about working with organisations and supporting them to excel through collaborative leadership. My most successful endeavours have always been in a team environment, where I can contribute in a way that enhances the work of many. I am energised by contributing to quality leadership teams. My governance roles over the last eight years have involved work on boards and advisory boards in the small and medium-sized enterprise area. Particular skills I add to any leadership team are in business development and growth – including influencing people, innovation, sales and marketing. I am an experienced business leader with a background in New Zealand and Australia, across a range of industries. My passion is helping business leaders adopt best-practice and the best tools to improve business performance. Particular areas of interest are developing higher performing people, systems and processes, supporting operational excellence to drive improved performance and outcomes. My career has evolved over the last 25 years into a passion to support organisations to thrive. The ambiguity present in our current environment is a constant. Being able to adapt, perform and innovate in a world which is ever-changing is crucial. After completing a degree in agriculture I worked as an agronomist in product development, sales and marketing - commercialising new technologies in New Zealand and Australia. This developed into a thrill of business and commercial endeavour – which led to my completing an MBA at the Melbourne Business School, to further enhance my practical experience and a focus on marketing and innovation. It is a common thread across my significant career achievements that the thrust in strategic intent - coupled with innovation, change management and positive commercial outcomes and have been made possible by working alongside quality people to obtain the best results. This is the operating environment which New Zealand organisations must grasp – using smart people, technologies and unique value propositions to excel on the global stage.
