Rod is an experienced financial adviser to companies in finance, mergers & acquisitions, growth strategies and treasury management and debt solutions. Rod interprets risk in order to determine overall creditworthiness and repayment ability of borrowers while establishing the most advantageous solution for the client. His responsibilities have included overseeing the spreading of business financial statements and tax returns, managing the preparation of and completing and analyzing personal and global cash flow analysis, and the management of the preparation of credit packages. His roles have encompassed performing periodic portfolio monitoring tasks including monitoring financial covenant compliance, monitoring borrowing base compliance, and follow-up on items not in compliance. He has a thorough knowledge of federal and state regulations governing credit administration, comprehensive working knowledge of consumer and commercial loan documentation, loan classifications, reserve analysis and risk management techniques. He has over 20 years of consumer, small business, commercial operating company and commercial real estate entity experience. He is a licensed real estate broker and active community volunteer. He has worked with 2 international banking institutions, a top 25 university and community banks.Rod advised businesses on structuring commercial transactions, growth strategies and cash management and debt facilities. Rod generated new, profitable relationships with operating companies and real estate development interests. Rod also helped establish NewBridge Bank's presence living out its Guiding Principles in Raleigh as the bank grew in the area. Rod was and still is active in serving the community in roles with the YMCA, the North Carolina Bankers Association, Wake Education Partnership and Edenton Street United Methodist Church.

Rod advised businesses on structuring commercial transactions, growth strategies and treasury management and debt facilities. Rod generated new, profitable relationships with operating companies and real estate development interests.

Rod was a Client Manager who advised companies with revenues of $50 million and greater, as well as large tax-exempt organizations, in finance, mergers & acquisitions, derivatives and treasury managment solutions.

Rod originated and underwrote real estate transactions for the Business, Private and Commercial Banking Units of the Triangle Region for Wachovia. He utilized his connectivity and banking accument to develop the business, underwrite the business and enhance the overall relationship. His understanding of cap rates, market rental and sales levels and real estate trends elevated him to the level of specialist.

Rod was a team member in the Small Business Task Force to introduce Small Business Banking to the company and the marketplaceHe managed the Central Region growth of the Small Business portfolio by $20 million (15%) in loans and $5 million (8%) in deposits in 18 months Rod managed 6 Small Business Bankers’ sales, credit quality and professional development (two of his teammates were consistently in the top 10 Small Business Bankers in the company) He led monthly sales education meetings for the team and monthly individual coaching sessions to foster team work and individual selling excellence. Rod contributed to the Consumer Sales management team by attending monthly meetings and developing sales, expense management and personnel development strategies.

Developed relationships with corporations and foundations and solicited corporate and foundation donations for Wake Forest University. Inititated and cultivated personal relationships with individual friends and alumni at companies to further their investment in Wake Forest University.

As a Consumer and Retail Banker Rod managed the tellers and customer service representatives while developing new consumer and business loans. As a Branch Manager Rod managed Consumer and Retail Bankers as well as the platform while being an ambassador for the bank in the community and developing business, retail and consumer loan and deposit opportunities.
