As chairman I have:➢ Chaired a meeting of all the members once every two weeks.➢ Treated about 400 official student requests per year about facilitations and modifications of the examination.➢ Imposed sanctions in about 40 cases of examination fraud per year.➢ Written the annual reports of the board.➢ Concerted and conducted three central investigations in the faculty to provide quality assurance of the performed examination.➢ Defended the quality of the examination successfully for the 4 departments that were visited for accreditation during this period.➢ Been responsible for the reorganization of all the procedures of the board during the merging of the technology faculties from 2000 to 4000 students.

During this period I was:➢ Assisting Prof. J. van Ruitenbeek in the coordination of the national research program “Atomic and Molecular Nanophysics” involving 11 research groups. ➢ Measuring the electrical conductance through individual polymers using lithographic junctions.➢ Implementing a gate electrode in lithographic break junctions and measuring its effect on molecular conductance.➢ Applying high frequency (>10 MHz) shot noise measurements in break junctions to study the influence of inelastic electron scattering on the conduction of point contacts.

The group of Prof. Nicolás Agraït and Prof. G. Rubio-Bollinger form part of the Laboratorio de Bajas Temperaturas, where I:➢ Designed and constructed a low temperature force microscope (AFM/STM) using a quartz tuning fork for single molecule experiments.➢ Built the electronics required for this low temperature AFM.➢ Used it to measure the local electronic properties of graphene.
