Retired since September 2012. In the past district manager for Staatsbosbeheer (30 years) in several districts in the eastern part of the Netherlands. Followed by 8 years working as project manager and international officer for Staatsbosbeheer. As such: liaison for Staatsbosbeheer with the international network organisations Eurosite and Europarc. and Twinning coordinator for Eurosite. Liaison officer for the European Diploma areas (for Staatsbosbeheer) in the Netherlands and member of the Dutch National Ramsar committee. Was appointed as an Ambassador of the EU Natura 2000 Networking Program for exemplary environmental management of EU Special Protection Areas.2005 - 2015: - Eurosite Twinning Coordinator (for mediation and advise for twinning between site managers) (see: www.eurosite.org)2009 - present: - Initiator project "Migratory Birds for People" for 32 wetland centres at Ramsar / Natura 2000 sites along the East-Atlantic Flyway in Western-Europe and West-Africa together with Wetland Link International and Wetlands International.
