I am the principal engineer and team lead for the next generation LoopNet iOS applications. As the lead technical architect in CoStar’s first mobile application, CoStarGo, I developed and set the technical design standards and mentored 10+ previously non-mobile developers, leading them into a successful iOS development team. I was a key architect for the Apartments.com iOS app, levering the reusable components I created for CoStarGo for the success of that app. CoStar owns and continuously gathers very large amounts of complex real-estate data, making effective interactions with the service layer teams essential to the success of both apps. Also, with the confidence and respect of the design team, I was successful in translating design documents/concepts into the intended products. Due to the very data intensive nature of the CoStar products, cross-team communication and long-term planning are paramount success factors to rollouts of the CoStar mobile products. These required skills are in addition to the basic app skill set of quality coding, agile processes, leadership and team play.

One More Thing is the biggest Dutch online Apple community. One More Thing serves millions of users (including over 40.000 registered users) in The Netherlands, Belgium and Luxembourg, with daily news, audio & video podcasts, and a large forum. One More Thing is named after a phrase Steve Jobs every so often used at the end of his famous keynotes.On One More Thing I share my insights on Apple, its products and its market. Being a developer for Apple products for more than 25 years and having multiple iOS apps in the iTunes App Store, I try to offer a perspective that differs from most other media.One More Thing's vision is simple but clear. When I co-founded The Dutch Republic b.v. we focused on consulting and technology around management information systems or, if you prefer, business intelligence. Later on we also created websites and web-applications that applied the knowledge we acquired building the management information systems. We always stayed a relatively small company (with about 30 employees at the maximum). We didn't center our company around a particular technology supplier, we tried to use the best tool for a particular job. We did a lot of things using open source technology but we also built systems using Microsoft products or Java. Next to being the tech guy I am the general manager and am responsible for the bigger part of our sales and our business development.A few years ago I decided I wanted to do more coding and other tech stuff myself.
