Hubstudio

Sydney En Omgeving, Australië

An eight week physical acting workshop from the Netherlands for professional working actors. The HubStudio is thrilled to have international coach Roel Voorbij at the studio. The Babelworkshop is an eight week physical movement course that teaches actors how to reconnect to their freedom of expression. This course is essential for those working professionals looking to find a new way to access their craft, learn a new technique and unlock their potential. What is the Babelworkshop? The main thing we learned in primary school, was how to sit still, listen to a superior and suppress our desire to play around and have fun, we conform to the norm in society. As actors we generally do a great job at finding some of this freedom back again however, the Babelworkshop can take you even further, helping to unlock a new way of looking at your craft. Although we mostly think visual in our head, or in words, our body thinks in a completely different way. This workshop guides you from re-creation to creation, to get in ‘the moment’ and stay there! You will learn where you suppress valuable life energy, and how to find a playful way to express yourself and your characters in a personal, relaxed and congruent manner. Before we know it, we’re showing all kinds of non-verbal signs, that tell a completely different story!’ Roel VoorbijThis work aims at the ongoing physical connection you need as an actor. So if you are an actor that looks for a stronger physical expression on stage, non-verbal as well as the expression of text and words from a physical starting point. Come and find out what you’re capable of…..

Role-Play Actor

Role Play Actor. Trifier, Actinc, Actopmaat

Role play and simulation acting I Work as an actor in communication skill training since 2006, specializing in 'non-verbal communication', for employees of varying industries, including: managers, teachers, directors, mental health workers, prison wardens, youth care and healthcare workers. Topics include: Aggression, contract/time/project management, leadership, motivation skills, safety and communication to superiors, robbery, shoplifting, solicitation training, interrogations and conflict managing. Here are some quote's from people I work withYou understand the art of true contact. In admiration I watched you creating a becoming image from a brief instruction of a course participant. You are able to 'fine tune' your instrument to the learning needs of the people you work with, and recall very specific, what happened during the simulation. you work profoundly and at the same time you manage to keep it simple, safe and accessible for the participants. Marion Broekhuis,Clinical case managerDijk en Duin, Parnassia Group.Roel can portray credible behavior like no other!Painfully annoying, troublesome situations, are simulated in a recognizable way. He has a talent to genuinely react to the behavior of the participant within the role-play. Because of his great observation abilities, he manages to give a tangible overview why he reacted like he did within the simulation. Besides that his behavior steerage to the plane where the participant needs to gain experience and carry into effect different interventions. From the situation I can read, Roel takes interest in our field of work and is fully aware of the communication techniques we use. In his work he has a way to get participants at ease and work with him. His feedback is very constructive and respectful.Renata Hijman, Pieter-Jan Algera Trainers 'Stichting de Jutters'. Youth care.
