Working often independently to ensure organizational success, and compliance with regulations by numerous Security Specialists across multiple buildings. Accurately documenting infractions and incidents to ensure the security of our client and all personnel in the immediate area.

I spend 8 hours a day ensuring the security of ideas. “What kind of ideas? World changing ideas.” Attention to detail, discipline, and customer service are paramount here.

I operate the motor vehicles of Headquarters and Supply Company for CLB 23, helping to ensure operational readiness of the trucks and drivers.

I worked 8-hour night shifts to ensure that all newly shipped merchandise is off the sales floor by the time the store opens in the morning. Additionally, I ensure all shelves are fully stocked in my section of the store. To accomplish these tasks, I operate an array of "lift equipment" to move boxes weighing up to 320 pounds up into the appropriate shelving units. The last year I was operating forklifts and had access to the exterior bay door for the purpose of bringing in and restocking lumber, I honed my equipment skills with bunks of wood up to 16 feet long and 4,000 lbs.

I spent one season as assistant coach at IMS ensuring accountability and safety for up to 35 middle schoolers who were willing to try their hand at the hardest and oldest sport in the world. My top priority otherwise was ensuring they stayed engaged and had fun, it was quite a different experience from coaching high school.

I began as a volunteer coach, then assistant, then head, and finally assistant coach once more for Eastlake Wrestling over the course of 6 years. My duties were to ensure that all the wrestlers were safe, learned how to wrestle, increased their fitness levels, and acquired life skills. The workweek would involve at least 10 hours of practice time, typically 8-10 hours on the weekend for a tournament, an additional 4 hours for each interscholastic competition, and then extra time on the side to ensure parent emails were responded to and proper communication was passed to everyone involved.

My tasks included watering and caring for hundreds of potted plants, assisting customers with selections and item locations, running a register, manicuring the nursery via weeding, graveling, and mulching, selling Christmas trees, and more.

Over 10 months of service, I volunteered over 1800 hours of my time to government or non-profit organizations. Aside from a normal 40-hour week, I fulfilled recruiting duties for future Corps members and for businesses that may benefit from having AmeriCorps service. For the teams I was a part of, I coordinated 45-minute fitness exercises 3 times a week to ensure physical health during our service. I gained many useful skills from a variety of outdoor work including wildland firefighting and boardwalk construction. My leadership and teamwork abilities were greatly expanded during this time.
