- Earned his B.Eng. in Food Eng. from the Polytechnic National Institute (Mexico), and his M.A.Sc. in Chem. Eng. from University of Toronto (Canada). Completed his PhD studies in Chem. Eng. at the Imperial College London (UK).- Highly accomplished researcher with probed research leadership both nationally and internationally, 22 JCR publications, 2 book chapters and 1 patent, with an h-index score (Scopus) of 13, newly promoted as member of the National Research System (SNI) Tier 2 (2024), and mainly focused on food fermentations, natural product extraction, biotics products, and membrane bioseparations.- Experienced and excelled professor in the area of Food Engineering and related disciplines. Directed the thesis works of 7 undergraduate and 9 postgraduate theses (2 D.Sc. and 7 M.Sc.), and was appointed as external professor for Doctoral Thesis co-direction by the Metropolitan Autonomous University (UAM) and the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN).- Awarded the XV Dr. Christopher Augur research prize granted by the Graduate Program in Biotechnology of the UAM for the best doctoral article in 2023. Directed the thesis´ winner of the prize Sergio Sánchez Esquivel 2017 to the Best M.Sc Protocol in the area of Biotechnology and Bioengineering by the Mexican Society of Biotechnology and Bioengineering (SMBB) and Applikon Biotechnology.
