My family has lived in the Yakima Valley for four generations. I grew up in Selah, spending the summers on my grandfather’s ranch in Naches and graduating from Selah High School in 1989. I attended both undergraduate and law school at Willamette University, obtaining a B.A. in business economics in 1993 and a J.D. magna cum laude in 1996. Upon graduation I returned to Yakima and went to work for Halverson Applegate, P.S, where my practice emphasized business, real estate, agriculture and commercial litigation. After practicing in a larger firm environment for seven years, myself and two of my partners formed Carlson, Boyd & Bailey, PLLC. The smaller firm environment was more conducive to allowing an increased emphasis on commercial agriculture and debtor/creditor matters. This sort of emphasis allowed Roger to combine my desire to assist farmers with his background in economics. In 2011, I followed my family to Park City , Utah in order to allow my children to participate in a year round freestyle skiing program. It quickly became apparent that while the skiing was world class, I missed the Yakima Valley, my clients and the nature of my work. In the summer of 2011, I returned and, with my partner Josh Busey, formed Bailey & Busey PLLC. My practice continues to emphasize bankruptcy, financial restructuring, agriculture and commercial litigation.
