Crime Management Services

I am tasked to deliver organisational compliance around all aspects of national crime recording standards, including adherence to exacting Home Office requirements. I oversee delivery and resolve any potential obstruction to exceptional service delivery. Serving as the organisation’s point of contact for all queries in this area, I ensure the correct collation and capture of relevant figures to inform senior management and meet Home Office requirements. Managing a large team, I also lead exceptional organisational response to victims of crime. This includes the staffing of a phone help desk and timely and appropriate email response. I ensure that my team continually develop their skills to deal thoughtfully and effectively with victims of crime, guiding and advising on the most challenging cases. I ensure that victims are offered exceptional diplomacy and fairness alongside a realistic view to manage expectations of potential outcomes I have identified and resolved issues that were impacting a range of partners and potentially Home Office statistics; instigating retraining and managing determined resistance to secure all critical information and statistics are consistently correct. The majority of my team is composed of police officers and staff who are working on restricted duties. I undertake enhanced responsibility for ensuring each member of my staff is fit to work and that required adjustments are in place; coordinating with occupational health and human resources partners when needed. This has, at times, required exceptional support for staff struggling with long term ill health; I have built strong supportive relationships ensuring fairness to both the staff members and organisational interests.

Grip And Pace Centre

Managing a team, I assessed and led the response to real time, often critical, incidents and direct operational, administrative and functional systems. Working under the principle of reducing harm, risk and threat, I oversaw the prioritisation of reported crimes and requests for police assistance across a busy central London borough.Directing the central communications and operational heart of the borough, I demonstrated the ability to think quickly and accurately assess and manage risk to individuals and the organisation. In this busy and pressured environment, I considered levels of vulnerability and potential seriousness, reporting regularly to the senior leadership team on current and emerging issues and actions taken. I also managed a range of supplementary needs including public order resourcing, ensuring readiness and resilience and leading on Taser management; ensuring upkeep and compliance with exacting legal requirements. I held oversight of firearms or ammunition seized by police or handed into police; implementing robust safety and security through the introduction of firearms lockers and ballistic bags and ensuring absolute clarity around strict operating procedure standards.

Frontline Policing

Response - Leading a team of around 15 officers in a busy central London borough, I ensured calls for attention were responded to promptly. Prioritising incidents, conducting risk assessments and directing initial investigations, confirming evidence was secured and witnesses, suspects and forensic opportunities were identified. I managed the resourcing of the team; planning duty schedules to ensure staff were deployed most effectively and were available in areas and at times of greatest need. I delivered operational obligations alongside the professional development, discipline and welfare needs of my team. I exercised exceptional diplomacy, fairness and influencing skills to manage rapid changes in duty requirements and the subsequent disruption to officers’ plans.Custody - I held responsibility for the reception, detention, release and overall care of individuals brought into police custody. I secured strict adherence to the Police and Criminal Evidence Act 1984 (PACE) codes of practice regarding the rights and treatment of arrested persons. I managed often demanding internal requests and, when needed, tactfully challenged more senior officers, to secure rigorous individual and organisational protection from illegally authorised detentions. I worked with lay visitors, solicitors and responsible adults, promoting an understanding of police actions and resolving concerns at the earliest opportunity.Borough Taskforce - Responding to spikes in offending, I led overt and covert patrols to manage and mitigate priority crime from robbery to burglaries and vehicle crime and planned and implemented operations to execute high threat warrants.

Frontline Policing

I provided immediate response to critical incidents and management of a wide range of operational activities; processing information quickly and accurately. On promotion, I managed the reaction to critical incidents and directed operational requirements. I also served as a custody officer, demonstrating the ability to think calmly in high tension environments whilst remaining cognisant of the exacting demands of all legal requirements.
