My research focuses on the molecular and structural biology and biophysics of protein-protein, protein–nucleic acid and protein–drug interactions, with a strong emphasis on membrane proteins. Core technologies in the gene-to-structure process include high-throughput cloning and mutagenesis, stable cell line generation, protein overexpression in bacteria and mammalian cells, protein purification, biophysical characterization, crystallization (vapor diffusion and LCP) and structure elucidation by X-ray crystallography. I am passionate about writing scientific and popular scientific articles and I recently co-authored a textbook on biochemistry and molecular biology for PhD and medical students.
