I am a graduate from UW-Parkside with a Bachelor's degree in Environmental Studies, as well as a minor in Biology. My interest is working in Environmental conditions, doing testing on hazardous waste as well as monitoring the health of water and soil conditions. Caring for the environment is both a hobby and a passion, and securing a position in the environmental field has been a long-term goal of mine. I have experience working with hazardous chemicals from two different positions, and have conducted testing in the Research and Development department at Ellsworth Adhesives. From my time at University, I gained experience conducting different types of water and soil testing regarding the long term health of different rivers and ecosystems. At Ellsworth Adhesives, I held the position of Assistant Chemist in the Research and Development Department. At this position, I performed testing on various chemicals and adhesive product to cater to customer needs for a unique adhesive product. Testing included viscosity, glass transition, electrical, water, burn testing, and more. This testing utilized many different testing equipment devices and demanded precise effort. Other responsibilities included performing raw material qualifications, technical data sheet updates, and recording data in an electronic notebook.I have worked in both pharmaceutical and adhesive manufacturing environments and have been exposed to safely working with corrosive and toxic chemicals. Safety precautions I have been trained to use include an N95 full face respirator, supplied air, and powered air purified respirator. I have also been trained to identify pictograms and their meanings in an OSHA relevant setting. My hobbies revolve around the outdoors. My favorite activities include mushroom hunting, fishing, hiking, kayacking, and gardening. I would like to extend my passion for the outdoors into helping preserve and protect the environment.
