In charge of the Quality Management System for Broadwind Services, a wind turbine service company. This includes gearbox & blade work in Abilene, Texas & Howard, South Dakota and field work in North America. I am involved in all Root Cause Analysis, Non-Conforming Reports, Corrective Actions & Preventative Actions. Documentation is also under my control along with ISO certification. We are ISO 9001: 2008 certified. In addition to my Quality duties I'm in charge of the Continuous Improvement activities. We use the A3 methodology and track 17 KPI metrics for our Operational Excellence program.

Des Moines, Iowa Area

Led the QMS on the factory floor for a medical device manufacturer. Three Quality Supervisors and 30 Leads & Inspectors were responsible for the quality activities under my direction. We covered all activities from receiving and in process inspection to final test and shipping. We established new monitoring systems for rejects & rework items and reduced both. Working with Engineering we also established border/boundary limits.

Rapid City, South Dakota Area

Initiated and responsible for the Quality Management System for a plant of one of the nations largest kitchen & bath cabinet manufacturer. Led 3 Quality Supervisors, 2 Quality Engineers and 20 Inspectors. We had a tremendous Quality & Continuous Improvement record. We reduced the scrap rate & Customer complaints every year in a row for our last 13 years. We consistently had the lowest DPPM & NCPPM of all the Masco BCG plants.We used Continuous Improvement tools to run our business. I facilitated over 150 Kaizens and taught Six Sigma. All employees were involved in Kaizens. All Management was trained in Six Sigma & completed projects that improved safety, quality and cost. In addition to that I taught all of management (26 Managers & Supervisors) the Zenger Miller Basic Management skills. From 1984 to 2009 I was a ASQ Certified Quality Engineer and in 2004 I became a certified Six Sigma Black Belt by the Juran Institute.

Supervised 5 Inspectors & 7 Auditors for a riding lawn mower, snow blower and tiller manufacturer. Areas of responsibility were receiving inspection, press room (metal stamping), drilling, grinding, welding, paint, sub assembly, assembly lines and testing. First article tooling & first/last piece inspections were part of our responsibilities. This was in a union shop (UAW).
