Former Head of Forensic Investigation , Crime Scene Coordinator/ Manager/ Investigator having the privilege of working with amazing colleagues at complex and challenging crime scenes. The role of the Crime Scene Investigator (CSI) is often forgotten in the extensive investigations process leading to court. Albeit over stated in the world of film and television, it is the steady and often slow process of identifying relevant items and samples and preserving them for analysis at a laboratory or bureau away from the scene. Often taking many days or weeks of working in atrocious environments. I always enjoyed the challenge of scene management in all its different forms. Every scene has the potential to identify a person of interest to the investigation team. My thanks to all my colleagues and friends for a fantastic varied career leading to work in 3 police forces and the MoD forensics you have all been fabulous to work with.
