I am an independant consultant to the retail and service industry. My client list is subject to confidentiality agreements, but basic information can be provided if required.
I set up the non-product procurement department where none had existed before. This also covered: staff accommodation, travel, transport (I was effectively the fleet manager). And the procurement of all non-retail items, such as large numbers of disposables used within the food retailing and F&B industries and all IT items from software through hardware to disposables.
Reviewed all internal systems and procedures and produced operating manuals in line with known industry best practises. Set up the first "Chart of Authority" which ensured that the right people were making the right decisions. I later set up the non-product procurement team before later going on to perform the same function for Geant Saudi.
I ran the Men's Tailoring division, previously I had been Head of Merchandising for all of Ladieswear and Head of Ladieswear International. Prior to that I had run the Ladies Blouses and Ladies Footwear departments, then the two largest in M&S. Before that I had run the Home Furnishings Department.
