Having gained over thirty years experience within The West Midlands Police I consider myself to be versatile,multi skilled with strong interpersonal skills gained from a variety of backgrounds.The majority of my service was within The Criminal Investigation Department dealing with every aspect of criminal investigation,ranging from initial investigations,suspect and witness interviews,file preparation and liason with other agencies.In addition I accepted additional roles including coaching and mentoring junior detective officers through the ICIDP process (Intial Crime Investigators Development Programme) and other Police training roles.During my service I also worked on a number of high profile cases and cases of both a complex and covert nature.I have been awarded a substantial number of commendations and awards from Senior Officers who have always described me as being tenacious with very strong work ethics,The Chief Constable described my background and character as "exemplary"Since retirement I have worked in a number of local colleges of further education and continued my own academic studies.I have a passion for investigative interviewing together with forensic and criminal psychology.For the past five years I have been a member of The International Investigative Research Group (iIIRG).Collectively I lecture in a number of disciplines involved in both policing and investigation including research, , justice and punishment, global conflicts and government.
