ProfessorRit Jun 2008 - May 2017Rochester, NyAs a research professor at RIT, I teach and conduct research in areas such as optics, space weather, computer security and neural networks. My active research areas focus on space weather storms and the use of neural networks to forecast the eruption and arrival times of such storms. Severe storms can disrupt the power grid, affect any satellite communications, and reduce the ability to use GPS. Dr. Dube is conducting research on photochemistry, and, in unrelated work, develops novel cyber security technologies using local physics-based measurements to provide strong encryption and authentication. Dr. Dube teaches courses in entrepreneurship for scientists in conjunction with the Business School, project and team management of technology efforts, and lectures on the historically accurate view of Native American science and inventions throughout the millenia. -

Board Member And Chief ScientistDigital Authentication Technologies, Inc. Feb 1996 - PresentRochester, NyDigital Authentication Technologies (DAT), Boca Raton, FL, provides advanced authentication technology for machine-to-machine and user-to-machine access control and policy definition systems. Our current product offering leverages the birefringence measurements of RF signals to create a Location Specific Digital Fingerprint™ (LSDF™), the first and only identity and access management (IAM) solution providing location as a trustworthy identity in cyber space. LSDF technology guarantees that two measurements, taken from our receivers at two different times, occurred from the same location. Moving our receivers even a few meters changes the birefringence measurements and causes authentication failure. By passing our telemetry on to our authentication server, we can then plug into any type of multi-factor authentication system and eliminate whole classes of threats and vulnerabilities created by location anonymity that impose risks to enterprise assets including, but not limited to, valuable data, process controls and business goodwill. For instance, with LSDF technology, remote users can now be assured they are communicating with trusted servers in secure data centers while enterprises can impose hierarchical access controls based on user and device location. As a result, LSDF technology is indispensable to securing infrastructure and data across the enterprise and into the cloud. -
