Sovereign Arts was launched as a non-profit dedicated to partnering with Native Americans around their rights, education, and environmental protection.

During a crucial period of drug policy reform, I led a team of eight overseeing a 150-member international speakers bureau as well as media relations, with the goal of educating about the importance of drug policy reform. I researched donors through the Foundation Directory and the web, drafted proposals and reporting for foundation and individual donors, and arranged for and attended ED meetings with donors. With the ED, I maintained close contact with international branches and initiatives. I built partnerships, including with Amnesty International. I also supported the ED in preparing for and reporting at Board meetings.

Supported ED in interactions with faculty, staff, fellows, and the public. Collaborated on preparation for Du Bois Awards Medal Ceremony. Let go due to hiring freeze.

A3D's mission is to address the economic, educational, environmental, and public health needs of Africans in the Greater Boston area and in Africa.

Worked closely with the ED to grow ArtCorps and to conceive and implement a strategy for a smooth transition from a pilot project of NEBF to a separate nonprofit. I oversaw a doubling of the budget, the number of volunteers, and countries served. ArtCorps placed volunteers at Central American grassroots organizations to raise human rights, environmental, and public health awareness, and to create economic opportunities.
