I am a sales associate at Mariner's Yacht and Ship Brokerage, Inc. in Dana Point and Newport Beach. I began selling yachts after over 40 years of owning, crewing, and working on boats. I have been involved with many, many boats, both sail and power, over the years and have acquired extensive knowledge of different types of vessels, engines, and boat systems.My background is in commercial painting, working mostly on civic projects, i.e. schools, civic centers, city halls.In 1999 I began working part time on a 82' 1928 Schooner "Kelpie". The work involved crewing, painting and varnishing woodwork, including varnishing a 85' and 53' mast. Also, doing some electrical and mechanical work and dealing with professionals in those fields. In 2004 I started working full time on maintaining and crewing on sailing ships. I currently maintain another 82' Schooner "Curlew" and over 15 other yachts in Dana Point Harbor. In addition, I do various projects on boats in my area, (Dana Point, Ca) from installing navigation lights and bilge pumps, and carpentry. I also work as a "rigger" which means I go up the masts on sailboats and repair or replace shrouds, stays, anchor lights, etc.I have also done many boat deliveries along the coast here in Southern California.
