Writing and setting up full company IMS procedures for safety, Quality, Environmental, for update for 18001, 14001, 9001 accreditation for site construction and factory operations. Heavy involvement of operations on all construction sites ranging from 30-80million, stakeholder management, and new site tenders and planning.

Project rescue team put together for a 10-storey office refurbishment to apartments with the removal of the roof and a further 4 new floors being constructed and new roof and balconies added. The Health & Safety regime was in need of a review and implementation of a whole new safe system of work. Given the project morale was so low this was not an easy task. With the new team providing positive reinforcement, this allowed for sub contractors to buy into the new regime.

Appointed to implement a step change and update the company Policies and Procedures and auditing all sites to the new standard. Providing new method statements, Health & Safety Plans and Risk assessments for all new sites before commencing. Writing reports after investigation of Accidents and Incidents and reporting directly to the Managing Director, on a six month contract.

Covering all projects over the NW and NE, consisting of the construction of large extra care apartment blocks, new build social housing schemes and complex refurbishment projects.Also assist the Pre-Construction team from a SHEQ / CDMC perspective on all new tenders. Planning of a £3.8 Billion gas pipeline and compressor stations from the Turkey/Greece Boarder going through Greece and Albania across the Adriatic and into Italy. Looking at the safety in design and procurement of multi lot tenders for EPC contracts in each country. Attending HAZOPs / HAZIDs for project design. Putting together the Security package with Control Risk LTD for the threat assessment for the whole project ready for project go ahead in late 2015. To recruit a selection of staff and offices in each country. Setting up the foundations for project SHE system and legal registers for each country. Reviewing surveys on roads and bridges as well as land accusation. Looking at the best of what the consortium companies have to offer to set up the best corporate safety system to be used on the project and introducing to all countries. Sourcing a new PPE provider for the whole of E.ON UK and help setting up a new on line ordering system for all E.ON employees resulting in saving over 100K

August 2006 – January 2008. Westinghouse Rail Systems Ltd (WRSL)Regional SQE ManagerOrchestrated the set up the first of many Hub and Spoke Type A Resignalling Projects, including carrying out the role of Principal Contractor and assisting Network Rail on CDM Hub & Spoke and ensuring compliance and consistency throughout Type A Projects. Moved WRSL forward for setting up and successful commissioning of each contract, including WRSL’s first £50 million Resignalling contracts at Erewash, Derby and Leamington Corridor and Glasgow overseeing the safety culture of over 1000 men.

Safety Consultant for Crown Aerosols £5 million demolition redevelopment and refurbishment of their main factory resulting in being completed on time under budget with zero accidents. April 2003- September 2005. Parsons Brinckerhoff (Consultant on secondment) Network Rail Assurance & Safety ManagerSeconded to Network Rail as Assurance & Safety Manager for, West Coast Route Modernisation (WCRM). Norton Bridge Alliance Resignalling Project, Stafford to Crewe estimated value £160 million. Successfully preventing a prosecution of Network Rail and Carillion after a major cable strike. This project was handed to me as my track record of turning projects round was my speciality. Working with numerous contractors and subcontractors to reduce accidents and introduce new initiatives such as track directional signs at access gates. This was being looked at on a national level. Route 11 /12 supervise Contractors undertaking extensive track, signalling and OHLE renewals work within an innovative total blockade of the route between Cheadle Hulme and Colwich. The works have an estimated value of in excess of £200 million .All projects were executed with over 8 million man hours. Working with numerous principal contractors and contractors with the project spit into four F10 areas and assessing interface between then all.
