Plans, facilitates and coordinates prerelease services for the reentry of offenders in to the community. Provides assistance to offenders in one or more of the following areas while under community supervision: social security benefits, healthcare, veterans' benefits, Medicare, Medicaid, employment. Assists with Program and treatment plans relating to risk and needs assessment of offender; and performs other duties as required.

Supervises a full caseload of probation/parolees providing case planning and classification for purposes of tailoring supervision to an individual, conducts interviews with probation/parolees, family members, referral counselors and law enforcement personnel to determine compliance with probation/parole conditions. Investigates allegations of probation/parole violations including both technical and criminal elements. Requests and serve warrants as the situation dictates. Completes supervision reports.

Ensures the safety and security of the apartment community. Receives and stores packages of resident deliveries, processes resident correspondence.

Supervises, counsels and directs persons on probation or parole in accordance to the guidelines set by their court/parole order. Creates and enforces case management plans in accordance to clients’ needs, taking into consideration any medical issues and devising solutions to overcome challenges. Works with halfway house residents to find home placements that meet clients’ needs that are within state regulations. Assists halfway house residents with medical treatment as needed while coordinating with halfway house administration. Responsible for the intake, set-up, and oversight of Jefferson County’s offenders on HIP, which includes day-to-day monitoring and counseling. Assist clients with getting support from outside agencies to ensure quality of life.

Proofs documents, maintains filing systems and/or schedules appointments and hearings. Oversees secretarial and clerical staff, including compiling yearly reviews. Responsible for inventory upkeep.

Supervises correctional officers. Coordinates the work of employees and inmates for specialized programs/details. Performs custodial security functions in order to maintain a safe environment, free from medical and other hazards.

Takes required action during emergencies to prevent escapes and create/maintain a safe environment for both staff and inmates. Oversees inmates/patients to ensure overall mental and physical health, including safeguarding against the spread of HIV and other diseases. Supervises inmates/patients and checks quarters for health and safety hazards. Administers emergency first aid to patients, residents, visitors and employees when necessary.

Conducts interviews and performs analysis of occupational areas and/or specific positions for the purpose of position classification and revising or developing class specifications. Counsels employees in the areas of career advancement, benefits administration and performance appraisal. Interprets personnel laws, regulations, policies and procedures for agency management, employees and the general public. Provides technical assistance to agency management regarding personnel, payroll, and benefits matters. Trains agency management in the administration of performance appraisal systems.
