    Founder & Director
Leach Aero Services - Central Australian Helicopters, Skyport, Chartair, Airnorth Dec 1975 - Present
Roger founded his own aviation company Leach Aero Services and Central Australian Helicopters (CAH). Leach Aero serviced outback station aircraft along with charter company aircraft throughout Central Australia, Mt. Isa in Queensland and the Barclay region north of the Alice. Central Australian Helicopters serviced the cattle mustering throughout the Northern Territory. The jet helicopters were used for the tourist industry, mining and evacuation work during the wet season. The Hughes 500D did a trip to Heard Island in the Antarctic to support the teams of scientists doing research in the local areas both on land and on the ocean The aircraft was there for a summer season and then returned to Australia by boat to Perth WA. Riding their wave of success, Roger would form Skyport, an umbrella for the group’s tourist operations, which included the acquisition of Ayers Rock Air Services (ARAS). The business would see tremendous growth, peaking at over 300 tourists a day. In addition, the company would delve into evacuation services for hospitals such as Tennant Creek, Alice, and Darwin. They would then gain possession of Chartair, one of the original providers of outback mail runs, which still operates to this day. Skyport would become the first public transit service after taking over the daily "Center-run" operations from Ansett NT, which serviced Darwin, Katherine, Tennant Creek, and Alice Springs daily. Skyport supported the NASA HIGH ALTITUDE Balloon project, both during takeoff, flight and cut-down should it be necessary. CAH helicopters and nomad aircraft aided in the retrieval of the space packages once landed.
