The Huck Finn Jubilee began back in the late 1970s as a family-owned local bluegrass music festival. As it grew, The Huck Finn Jubilee attracted well-established Bluegrass bands and large crowds. It featured such artists as Ralph Stanley, Alison Krauss, Del McCoury, Punch Brothers, Rhonda Vincent, Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers, Emmylou Harris, Peter Rowan, and more. In 2001, The Huck Finn Jubilee was recognized as the Bluegrass Festival of the Year by the International Bluegrass Music Association. In 2014, after the untimely passing of the founder, the festival was purchased by the city of Ontario, CA. In 2016, after the 40th-anniversary celebration, the city decided to close the festival. Roger and his wife Nicole stepped in to purchase and save this amazing event. The couple ran the festival successfully in 2018 and 2019 until the pandemic shuttered the experience. Huck Finn Jubilee was held as a virtual festival in October of 2020 and remained alive. In a triumphant return at a new venue in 2022, the festival was relaunched with great success. The festival is held every October in San Dimas, CA at the Bonelli Bluffs RV Resort and Campground.
