I had my future planned out to become a physician since undergrad at Rutgers. After graduating from Rutgers, and attending Robert Wood Johnson Medical School for two years, I realized that the lifestyle of a physician was not congruent with the lifestyle I want for myself in terms of work/ life balance. It was a tough decision to decide to leave the field of medicine because I devoted over six years of my life towards it. Ultimately, I see myself being happier branching out from medicine and exploring other fields.A career in a healthcare would be ideal as I am passionate about improving the healthcare system, and I have a great length of knowledge in the medical field. I am very passionate about mental health. It brings me great satisfaction by helping people who are going through difficult times and reassuring them with compassion and understanding that their quality of life will be improved. I'm also interesting in other fields such as business and technology, as those were other interest I've had before entering the medical field. I'm learning how to code in Python & Java, while also learning new strategies to maximize efficiency and communication skills in any company. Most of my work experience has been centered around medicine, mental health, and communication between community members and the general public. Between working at multiple call centers, managing a cultural center, and being an organic chemistry tutor, I have the resources needed for individuals to excel in many areas. I have also given presentations to community members on opioid use disorders, and how to help those people struggling with addiction. Apart from the medical knowledge I have acquired after two years of medical school, I am certified in Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers and Mental Health First Aid USA. I have volunteered at clinics as a Spanish Interpreter and have seen the positive impacts I've had on many patients. I want to continue being altruistic in any career I move forward in.
