Cultural resource management is archeological studies required by state and federal law to determine whether construction projects such as roads, pipelines, parks, etc., will affect significant archeological and historical sites. Archeological surveys are first conducted to determine whether any significant sites are ‘in harm’s way.’ In the rare instances when impact upon a significant site is unavoidable the firm conducts controlled excavations to gather information prior to the site’s destruction.The firm possesses special expertise in completing archeological investigations in urban contexts, consistent with one of Dr. Moore’s primary academic research interests. His solid academic background and extensive experience in archeology is combined with a business-like approach to the problems and objectives of cultural resource management consulting.
