My primary focus is completing structural design drawings, calculations and EOR of industrial facilities composed of primarily concrete and steel structures, many of which are multi-million dollar projects. Assist the Fricke field crews in expedient turnaround of structural repairs to maintain operational capabilities in mining and chemical facilities. Perform project and construction management, engineering, estimating, sales and quality control. Helped facilitate the opening of the FMC Engineering office. Manage junior engineers and drafting/design staff.

When Donan expanded to St. Louis in 2009, I was the first engineer hired and helped coordinate the office startup and sales efforts. I conducted site investigations to determine construction defects, storm damage, structural failures or other causes of damage to existing structures. Based on these investigations, I prepared detailed engineering reports to substantiate the findings which were used to determine potential liability.

Performed contract work for various local clients including SSE Structural Engineers, Pillar Design Group and McLaughlin Hoist & Crane. Worked as a project engineer on major garage repairs/renovations ranging from $200K to $4.5M. Analyzed existing structures to determine load-carrying capacity. Served as on-site field engineer for a variety of structural projects including parking garages, industrial and other buildings. Crafted detailed reports for clients regarding structural assessments, recommendations and construction.

Completed structural design of ground-up commercial buildings predominantly made of steel, masonry and concrete materials. Performed structural calculations for renovations, remodels and additions to existing structures and analyzed older structures for compliance with newer building codes. Conformed with state and local jurisdiction calculation and drawing submittal and review processes in numerous areas of the US. Designed structures in high seismic regions (CA, NV) and high wind regions (FL, Gulf Coast states). Functioned as engineering team leader on national accounts for Home Depot and Rooms to Go. Evaluated buildings for structural deficiencies due to fire and storm damage after Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

Designed storage tanks per API 620/650 and multi-million dollar boilers/pressure vessels and piping in accordance with ASME Sections I and VIII. Engineered industrial supporting structures in general compliance with AISC-ASD and LRFD. Coordinated drafting and estimating of designs with support staff. Managed projects and created reports for tank/vessel re-rates and alterations. Developed high temperature and pressure designs. Worked with designs including stainless steel, aluminum, inconel and hastelloy materials.

Headed Operations Section during Operation Desert Storm/Desert Shield. Completed Department of Defense Cartography and Non-Commissioned Officers Leadership schools.
