The job involved the installation of breathalyzer devices into vehicles belonging to clients who had been convicted of DUI related offences. Once the system was installed I was responsible for training the client in its use and also carrying out monthly monitoring of the system. The monitoring included downloading usage data, calibrating the handsets and taking payments for infractions and service fees. When the company Speedy Glass was subcontracted to lost the government contract I was laid off at the conclusion of our involvement.

Commenced my contract with AECOM in May 2010 where I was employed as a heavy wheel mechanic. After approximately 3 months I was promoted to lead mechanic and moved to a down range Forward Operations Base (FOB) I was responsible for issuing jobs to my maintenance team and assisting with any diagnostic issues and paperwork. Around 60% of our workforce were East Indian so at times there were issues with language barriers and it was my responsibility to handle problems with diplomacy and respect for different cultures and ideas. I was also responsible for covering my Supervisors position whenever he was on R&R or had to go to Bagram for meetings or training.Due to my experience in covering the Supervisor position for an extended period of time I was given a promotion to supervisor 1 in 2011, I was also move to a new FOB where I carried out the duties required of me which included:Filling out daily maintenance reports including vehicle status and parts required. Accounting for employee safety during incidents of incoming fire and dealing with matters of employee discipline and concerns. Carrying out monthly and weekly audits on equipment and paperwork. Undertaking government audits to ensure company policy was being adhered to.Attending maintenance meetings with base commander and his staff.When my base was closed due to the ongoing troop draw down I was tasked with shutting down maintenance operations and turning in the equipment and tools I was signed for.
