To deputise for the Chief Operating Officer & University Secretary as directed including responsibility for strategic leadership, operational management and continuous improvement of the following key activities and University processes: • Corporate Governance & Compliance, • Records Management & University Archive,• Risk Management,• Freedom of Information (FOISA),• Data Protection (DPA/GDPR)• Company Administration,• Appointments of Non-Executive Directors, • Corporate Secretariat functions, • Policy Development,• Equality & Diversity To direct and lead the University’s Governance and Records Management activities and functions ensuring that all internal and regulatory requirements are adhered to.To lead the Corporate Secretariat and ensure that the University Court, Academic Council, Executive Committees, University Foundation, Senior Management Team and Academic Partners receive a high level of professional, comprehensive and flexible corporate services and administrative support. To work collaboratively and constructively with Academic Partners and senior managers to develop and implement consistent policy frameworks across the University partnership, to establish a community of data protection and records management practitioners and to build a culture of data protection, information sharing and compliance that is supported by good records management practice that will assist the University to meets its strategic and corporate objectives and ensure an excellent service is provided to stakeholders.

Provision of professional services to listed corporate clients including London and AIM listed companies. Client relationship management, maintenance of risk registers, statutory filings, director and shareholder meetings.

Marine enforcement duties including master of offshore patrol vessel, fisheries protection, vessel licensing, offshore response (SAR, customs, police and fire service), development of marine policy & technical conservation controls within territorial waters, management of public consultations, project management, industry liaison and negotiation. Other duties for Guernsey Government included assistance with special projects including, planning for visits to the Island of high ranking officials including British Irish Council and Royal visits.
