Queensland State ManagerAesc - Australian Essential Services Compliance 2003 - 2006BrisbaneI was the QLD State manager and as such it was my duty to successfully run a team of both auditors checking essential services and also project managers of multiple buildings throughout QLD. We provided a 24/7 help desk for emergency and breakdowns for our myriad of clients. Building 'make goods' and upgrades, for both buildings, and services was one of many options we provided. My team were very successful in all that we achieved. Budgeting and report writing and attending board meetings were all part of my duties.I was also a qualified auditor of essential services, buildings, plant and equipment. -
Projects EngineerPivot Agriculture Ltd 2001 - 2003BrisbaneAs the Projects Manager for new Facilities I had input into design and construction of 8 new facilities. These were all innovative to the extreme, "thinking outside the box". The concreting was using new 'pins' not mesh mixture. The support beams were all laminated timber epoxy coated, as opposed to steel structures. The roofs were a toughened poly product from Israel, guaranteed for 50 years against UV damage. All the conveyors were of heavy poly products as against steel ones. A unique blender based on a 'flying saucer standing vertically, was the best and most innovative piece, this allowed blending times to be decreased by 70%, allowing much more product through per day. My contractors and sub contractors, lived temporarily, close to each of the job sites which stretched from Quirindi, NSW to Townsville,QLD.A testament to using new technology is that these facilities that would normally have been destroyed by the blended Fertiliser, years ago, are still standing and usable in 2015. All projects were on time and within budget. -
Engineering ManagerAustralian Meat Holdings 1999 - 2001Rockhampton, AustraliaI was the Chief Engineer at AMH's facility at Rockhampton. My duties were many and various, including running several teams of technicians working 7 days a week. All machinery, plant, equipment and buildings were my responsibility. As was the EPA, AQIS, RSPCA, OHSE, etc. 700 head of cattle passed through the facility per day and every department was my client whom I needed to supply and satisfy.Budgeting, planning and man management were all skills I honed in this position.Massive upgrades were done during my time, including;new gas fired boilers, a DAF purifier in the waste water, new ammonia compressors, new kill floor chain system, also an innovative change from discharging waste water into the Rockhampton River. We contoured our lower fields to capture 1 mega -litre of waste a day and harness it into growing food to feed drought cattle, increasing our profit margin and receiving a major recommendation from the EPA.I believe my time with AMH made me more innovative and certainly left a mark on AMH.
