Small Business Owner
CurrentArtist
CurrentI am a sculptor. I've worked in many mediums and many materials. It is my goal to work in the entertainment industry through special effect, theme parks or toy design.Proficient, and creative artist. I work in many mediums, including clay, wax, plaster, assemblage, and painting.
Owner/Operator
I have extensive experience in Pop Culture Collectibles, such as toys, comics and movie posters. I had a store front located in downtown Winchester, Ky. I bought, sold, and traded collectibles of all kinds at the store, on-line, and at conventions throughout the year. During that time I shipped items all over the world. I promoted the shop with print advertising, TV and radio spots, various forms of on-line advertising and social media.
Maintenance
My family owned several rental properties in the Winchester, Kentucky area. Throughout that time I was often called upon to fix any problems with the homes. Winchester has a fairly significant drug problem, which leads to a very high turn over rate in renters, and a substantial amount of damage as a result. This means that I frequently had to resolve many issues in a fairly short amount of time. Typically the work involved painting, refinishing floors, removing carpet, repairing holes, plastering walls and ceilings, rewiring outlets, light plumbing, replacing doors, lights, fans, sinks toilets, cabinets, really anything that could be removed from a house.
Sculpting Supervisor
Simply put, I sculpted breasts for 3 years.Radiant Impressions was involved in "Non-Surgical Breast Reconstruction." The facility produced custom fit breast prosthetics for mastectomy patients. As head sculptor I was responsible for the actual sculpting, the training and supervision of other sculptors, and the final inspection of the product before it left the factory. The molding, and manufacture of the prosthetic itself was handled by other employee's.The sculptors job entails the use of clay, castings of the patient, various measuring and mold making techniques to create a completely custom breast form for each individual. The job demanded an extremely high level of spatial orientation, visual acuity, and problem solving skills. The final form had to not only fit perfectly, and comfortably, but also match the shape and symmetry of the remaining breast. To accomplish this task it is necessary to be fast, but methodical, a good eye for detail is a must, and occasionally one simply had to make a best guess. Personally tasked with the sculpting of a non-custom breast prosthetic line. This line included a full ranges of sizes and styles to accommodate the requirements of various problems. In my final months with the company the plant was relocated from Kentucky to Michigan. I was tasked with the training of a completely new crew of sculptors to make the transition.
Automotive Department Associate
Primarily covering the automotive, and hardware departments. Address costumer needs, mix paint, make keys, stock product, and organize displays. Assisted customers in the automotive department and surrounding areas, including sporting goods, furniture, hardware, and toys. Also regularly stocked and zoned the same area's. In hardware a primary job had to color match paint. Often the computer used in this function would fail and the job had to be done by eye. This required an extraordinarily good understanding of color.I was often tasked to personally assist managers during various projects throughout the store. These included everything from setting up or breaking down holiday displays, to inventory. During my intentionally short time with Walmart I was offered several promotions. However I turned them down since I was actively seeking other employment.
College Program Guest Hospitality Internship
Five month Internship at Disney World's Roaring Fork Snack Bar at the Wilderness Lodge, and other locations around the resort. Trained to cover all of the available positions, including multiple cook stations, register and various other jobs. Disney stressed that the number one job was to maintain the magical experience for our guests. As such, training emphasized interaction with guests in a friendly, helpful, and professional manor.During my short internship I became a highly requested cast member at all of the additional locations I worked at. When they needed someone to fill in, I was at the top of their list. The internship also offered me the opportunity to participate in several classes and programs available exclusively to Disney Cast Members.
