Senior Pastor
CurrentI was invited to help lead worship on Sundays for a while. On the second Sunday, the Covid lockdown took effect, and since nearly all the members were elderly, we postponed services. We went online, and I played the music and began preaching. The next thing I know, I am being asked to submit my resume and consider the open position full-time. So, through osmosis, here I became the shepherd. I came with health issues that I felt were not good when working with children. So, I resigned. But without delay, I was back to work on Sunday with a new flock. I eventually became their Sr. Pastor. Year 1 focused on the Gospel and Discipleship—year 2 Exegesis through the Bible, learning the heresies that plague the American church. I found 3 who repented and corrected their theology and 1 hyper dispensationalist who left to stir issues. Year Three followed the Westminster lectionary, showing the connection to practices of the older church that contended for the faith, and passages of the lectionary break you into the heart of problems I didn’t know were even present in this tiny church. Year four reorganizing structure and orderly administrative practices and refocusing the church on local outreach evangelism and apologetics.
