I'm a curious, collaborative team leader who thrives in a fast-paced, innovative environment and has expertise in a variety of areas including: project management; leading teams; quickly synthesizing and distilling complex data and concepts into clear, concise applications for customers; strategic planning; technology including generative AI; operations; budget creation and oversight; corporate learning; content creation; material science; product development; customer success; educational research and policy; differentiated learning and executive functioning; and state-of-the-art distance learning. In October 2018, I received my doctorate in Organizational Change and Leadership from USC, complementing my science/math B.S.Ed and M.S.Ed in computer science. To best enhance human capital, the working environment, information exchange, and overall team experience must foster curiosity, provoke creative thinking, inspire action, spur communication, and invite unconventional and unexpected results. Colleagues and friends would describe me as someone who: jumps in and fixes things – from appliances to strategies; listens, reflects and gives pertinent feedback; is creative and flexible; takes reasonable risks; offers solutions, not complaints; is fiscally practical and adeptly manages economic realities and budgetary constraints; is customer success oriented; and remains calm in the face of adversity. On a personal note, I enjoy diverse experiences including: sailing from SF to Hawaii in the 2002 & 2022 Pacific Cup (https://www.sailblogs.com/member/totaleclipse/); white water rafting (a favorite - Futaleufu River, Chile); teaching myself to weld; and I'm on a car racing team in the “24 hrs of Lemons” series. My wife and I adopted three girls from China; two as infants and the last at 12 years old from a special needs orphanage (all in college now). Family conversations frequently involve social justice as my wife serves as a Superior Court Judge.
