    In this role I undertook recreation development projects across Forestry England's estate, including at Wendover Woods, Alice Holt, Haldon, Beechenhurst, Bedgebury: The National Pinetum, and Westonbirt: The National Arboretum. I was responsible for the design of hundreds of hectares of new woodland, particularly in the National Forest, Thames Chase, Mersey and Red Rose community forests. I developed guidance and training on master-planning, forest landscape design, children’s play, project planning and commissioning of new works.

    A commission by the National Trust at Killerton to illustrate the landscape change that will occur over 50 years through re-wilding a two kilometer section of the River Culm in Devon.Illustrations depicted changes through the creation and management of woodland, wildflower and hay meadows, wetland and riverine habitats.The illustrations also depicted changes to farming practice, restoration of historic river features, as well as public access and recreation.

    Assessing car parking and visitor use/impacts across the Pebblebed Heaths to compile a strategy for rationalising car parking location, layout, capacity and design to protect sensitive (SSSI, SAC, SPA) habitats likely to be at risk from increasing visitor pressure from housing development in the area.This piece of work involved developing a strategy for the whole area (1,400ha, 13 formal car parks and 30+ informal parking locations), concept designs and costings, and a stakeholder engagement process involving amongst others the main land Clinton Devon, Devon Wildlife Trust, RSPB and East Devon District Council, Natural England, English Heritage and Devon & Cornwall Police.
