Since early 2019 The Roger Diamond Foundation (RDF charity) has been listening to parents from challenging UK neighbourhoods. After numerous discussions with parents and parenting experts, we now design, run and promote tuition, projects and services especially designed to help parents/guardians in those communities. By supporting parents, our mission is that more children will be the best they can be, and more are less likely to do poorly at school or get involved in anti-social behaviour, street gangs or knife crime, etc.We offer general guidance, free resources, video-call lessons and online tuition to (low income) parents. Besides these services, wherever possible we give recommendations as to affordable or free high quality courses to help children have better chances for success in life. These include courses for example in: Literacy, Acoustic Music, Jazz or Art.

Playing the piano in bands or for solo performance and improvisation, Roger has a mixed repertoire. This includes popular Film Theme Tunes, Pop Ballads, Latin American, Caribbean, Standards and Jazz. Roger has performed at Hugo's in Queens Park, Ronnie's Bar above Ronnie Scott's, Le Quecumbar in Battersea and many other UK venues. Roger is available for music gigs and events.

Roger started writing poetry then stage plays, often about urban youth life, some of which were performed as community productions in the London Borough of Haringey. Later Roger wrote freelance as a Theatre & Film Critic for the Voice Newspaper, various Arts & Theatre magazines and free local newspapers. As a journalist Roger has met or interviewed many famous people that have inspired his interests in music and humanity, including composer Lalo Schifrin and Nelson Mandela.

Roger organised and managed performance arts projects and events, including workshops and classes for young people; in Drama, Music, Photography and Dance. In the 18th Brocade music workshops, he developed and managed a teenagers’ youth-reggae-band, that went on to tour the UK, and perform concert style in summer projects at most of Haringey’s primary schools.

To reach-out to and help young people, compile surveys and research to ensure sufficient suitable youth provision in Haringey.
