It has a 5.5 tonne gvw, and is exempt from congestion charge payment and many other costs and taxes. FedEx, UPS, Tesco, Speedy and M&S amongst many others were a growing part of its international customer base. Against a tough economic background, Modec and a few other niche EV businesses have ploughed a furrow in very hard ground. Originally responsible for establishment and development of the Modec Dealer Network in the UK, and Worldwide, I became Sales & Marketing Director for the business. My role incorporated presenting the product propositon at Director level through the international dealer network, lobbying government and interested parties for support, and managing the sales and marketing team in Coventry. I therefore developed a very strong understanding of the embryonic EV industry, the attitiude of businesses towards it, battery technology, charging infrastructures, and a network of key contacts at senior level within it.
