The Group has Sales $1.7bn, EBITDA $0.2bn, operations in 70+ countries and employs 22,000 people.Role reported to the Group CEO and the Coats plc Board –Responsible for all aspects of financial management and control, forecasting and planning, internal audit, tax, treasury, property, insurance, risk management, pensions, legal and corporate affairs, (plus IT until March 2011, when a new CIO was appointed, reporting directly to the CEO).• Development of a Strategic Plan for Coats, post-acquisition by GPG in 2003 and the subsequent implementation of it, involving a major restructuring programme with $700m+ invested in Reorg and Capex to transform Coats global footprint• De–leveraging the Group from 6x EBITDA to 2x EBITDA between 2004 and 2010.• Three successful re-financings completed, including a particularly difficult post acquisition refinancing as a cross over credit. Most recent refinancing (for $760m) signed in November 2011.• Development and implementation of a Common Systems platform (SAP) – now rolled out to 85% of the Group• Development of a new Strategic Plan for Coats in 2010, shifting the focus now to Profitable Growth and coinciding with the appointment of a new CEO in Jan 2010.• Implementation of a Corporate Restructuring to facilitate a possible future separation of the Crafts and Industrial Division • Completion of the Triennial Pension valuation (March 2009) and agreement of a ten year recovery programme. Turnover $250m, 11200 employees Reporting to local Chief Executive, with Finance and IT responsibility.• Initiated a major strategic review of the business which led to: a) a focus on the core business (Thread) and renewed emphasis on its integration into the Coats global supply chain b) exiting of all non core businesses via: - disposal of the Garments Division - progressive divestment/downsizing of the Textiles Division• Lead role in the disposal of Madura Garments for $60m, including 20% direct payment offshore for brands.• Lead role in a series of share buybacks and open offers, allowing the Group to cost effectively regain 100% control and delist from the Mumbai Stock Exchange
